Vampire Barnabas Collins is finally freed after being imprisoned in his coffin for almost 200 years (or more precisely 196 years). Upon returning to his beloved Collinwood, he finds his cursed and dysfunctional descendants living in the once grand manor. With Barnabas’ help, the family’s canning business gets up and running again but with one slight problem. His top competitor is none other than Angelique Bouchard, the witch who cursed him to be a vampire. Will they be able to play nice this time? Here are some movie mistakes to look for while watching 2012’s “Dark Shadows”.

· Barnabas and Angelique “meet” and they go to the drawing room. She sits on the lounge and crosses her right leg over her left one. Part of the lining/tongue of the boot is noticeably out on her right boot. When she mentions “they love me here”, the lining/tongue is back inside her boot and not noticeable. It’s askew again when she says “do you really think…”.

· When Angelique throws Barnabas in the coffin and chains him, there are men standing behind the casket holding the detached lid. But when Angelique opens the coffin after they place it in the crypt, the lid is attached to it with hinges.

· CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! When the cannery explodes, cans and fish land on Willie’s car. There is a fish horizontally on the windshield wiper near the middle of the windshield and another fish that slides down and then off the window on the left side of the screen. A few moments later, after Angelique points him out, Willie jumps in his car to escape the angry mob. The fish on the wiper is still there, but the one on the left is now back on the lower part of the windshield.

· CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! At the end, when Collinwood Manor is burning, there are several scenes where two vehicles, a red and a white one, can be seen outside near the fountain. But when the family is outside watching the house burn, a back view of them when Elizabeth says they will endure, the cars are nowhere to be seen.

“Dark Shadows” (2012) was directed by Tim Burton and stars Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Helena Bonham Carter, Jackie Earle Haley, Bella Heathcote, Chloe Grace Moretz and Christopher Lee. It runs 113 minutes and is rated PG-13 for comic horror violence, sexual content, some drug use, language and smoking.
