Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince – Daniel Radcliff This is Harry’s sixth year at Hogwarts, where Harry finds a mysterious book that says “This book is the property of The Half Blood Prince.” Not only is Harry very curious about the book but it also helps him excel in his potions class. The book it seems has made minor corrections to the original potions recipes making it easier for Harry to get his assignments correct. The book also has a few dark and dangerous recipes of its own.
Besides his regular classes Harry is being instructed by Professor Dumbledore to strengthen his ability against the Dark Lord and to try and figure out what his next move may be.
Professor Dumbledore tries to convince Professor Slughorn to come out of retirement to teach the potions class and to aid Harry by using his past memories from when Voldemort was young.
Together Harry and Professor Dumbledore find that Voldemort has hidden bits of soul in very remote places. Harry learns that Voldemort has used what is called a Horcrux to protect these pieces. It is up to Harry and Dumbledore to find them and try and destroy them.
This movie does not disappoint and it is just as good if not better than previous ones. The only thing I found disturbing is the loss of certain characters that I have come to adore as part of the Harry Potter series. Of course I have read the books and knew what was coming but it still doesn’t ease the effect.
Here are the mistakes I found.
In the scene when Harry drinks the Felix Felicis he empties the entire contents into his mouth. In the next scene while talking to Ron and Hermione you can see the vial in Harry’s hand and it is completely full with the top still on.
In the tower when we first see Dumbledore his beard is not tied. Shortly after and in the remaining scenes his beard is tied.
When Harry is going to see Dumbledore for his first set of lessons it shows Dumbledore with his glasses on. As soon as Harry enters the room it shows Dumbledore without his glasses.
When you first see the potions book where it has “This is the property of The Half Blood Prince” the writing looks like it is hand written. Later as it shows it again it looks more like it has been typed.
It will be a sad day for me when all of the Harry Potter movies have finally been released. I can’t hardly remember a time that I wasn’t either waiting for the new book or movie to come out. These are truly great and inspiring movies and they are sure to become classics.
