500 Days of Summer – Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel
Summer Finn walks into the life of Tom Hansen at the greeting card place where he works. For poor Tom it is love at first sight. Of course Summer doesn’t believe in relationships saying “they are too messy and someone always gets hurt.” Tom ignores her first response to relationships and talks her into dating. Not long after they become an item Summer decides that she just wants to be friends. Tom, being a romantic at heart knows that Summer is the girl for him and decides to wallow in self pity. They soon find them selves at a wedding and wonder if they should rekindle the relationship.
This is very cute movie if you don’t mind bouncing back and forth from the present to the past. At first it was a little confusing but it was still enjoyable. This is not a typical love story and the ending may surprise you.
Here are the mistakes I found.
In the scene where Tom is dancing with various people in the park a woman hands him his bag. He puts it on his shoulder with the flap facing the inside. In the next scene the flap is on the outside.
In the final scenes on the park bench Summer’s hair keeps changing styles from in the front of her shoulders to behind her shoulder my times.
During the scene where they are in the copy room and they share a kiss Summer places her hand on the back of his head only touching him lightly. When they are finished it looks like they had a very passionate encounter because Tom’s hair is more than just a little tussled.
Summer’s heart shaped birthmark on the left side of her neck is visible in some scenes but in others when it should be clearly visible it is not.
When Tom draws the first few lines of the buildings on Summer’s arm you can clearly see the outline of the drawing. When he is finished those same lines that you first saw are no where to be seen on her arm.
Cute movie but I must say the ending took me by surprise. I was expecting the two of them to live happily ever after. If you like romances and aren’t dead set on a typical ending you might enjoy this one.
