In an October newsletter, I promised that I would start making recommendations for gifts for all ages for the 2009 Christmas season. This week, my first recommendation is geared toward the preschool to early elementary girls in your life.

Several weeks ago, I presented a review of a devotional and one book in the Gigi—God’s Little Princess—series. The review can be found in the archives under children. Authored by Sheila Walsh, currently, there are twelve Gigi books. While the books are recommended for ages four to eight, some pop-up books were published that would be enjoyable for even younger children. There are six accompanying DVD movies for your little princess to enjoy as well as a dress-up kit.

The Gigi books are well illustrated and well written. If you are looking for a Christian series that you can feel comfortable giving to your child, niece, granddaughter, or as an Angel Tree present, this is it. Sheila Walsh is known for her whimsical and uplifting style. She is empowering to women and now, with the Gigi series, empowering to our little girls. You can follow Gigi on all of her adventures as she learns lessons about God.

The books and DVDs are available from Amazon.com separately or in combination packages. Some packages contained book and DVD; others contained multiple DVDS. I would highly recommend them for gifting to your favorite princess.
