Creating Constant Gratitude

Creating Constant Gratitude
I’ve become the ‘crazy lady’ that walks down the street with the permanent smile. I’m smiling when I run and when I walk. I’m smiling when I’m alone and when I’m with my kids. I’m smiling when I am busy and when I am relaxing.

I am living in a state of constant gratitude. I am aware that every moment is a given moment from God. I am aware that everything that happens in my life is happening for my benefit. It’s all a part of a Universal conspiracy to make me happy. Knowing this helps me to define, identify, and acknowledge such moments.

The Happiness Conspiracy is happening in your life too. I hope you got the memo. Just in case you forgot, moments to be grateful for are occurring all the time. So, I want to take this time to offer a few tools that will help you remember.

WARNING: Using these tools regularly could induce constant gratitude and a permanent smile.

1) Remember to Smile
A permanent smile makes you feel lighter and creates a brightened attitude. A brightened attitude helps prepare your brain for recognition of the gifts in your life. It’s an invitation to moments to be grateful for.

2) Affirmations of Gratitude
I start my morning with a stretch, a smile, and affirmations. This too opens my eyes to the possibilities of what can occur in my life. These words make me eager to face the day.
a. I am grateful to be alive and awake this morning.
b. Thanks for all of the wonderful things coming my way today.
c. I am looking forward to the conspiracy of happiness in my life.

3) Token of Gratitude
By placing a rock, crystal or other significant item in your pocket you can remind yourself to be grateful. Every time you touch the token of gratitude, remember to say thank you for whatever is happening at that moment. This is the beginning of identifying moments to be grateful for.

4) Gratitude Prayers
At the end of your day, remember to say a prayer of gratitude for all of the significant moments that have occurred throughout your day. The moments that you felt were great.

5) The Gratitude Journal
Designate space in your journal specifically for expressing gratitude. In this space, mention the moments in your day that may not have seemed like good moments. Then, spend a few moments saying thank you for those moments too. Remember, there is a conspiracy for your happiness and even the things that you may not immediately recognize as good things are, in fact, good things. Often journaling these moments help us see the benefit of them. This is acknowledgment.

There it is, my five tools to constant gratitude. Please utilize them with an expectation of increased happiness.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyday and forever.

“Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you” (I Thess. 5:18).
