Go Nuts!

Go Nuts!
Ages 8 and up

Players 2 to 4

Playing Time 12 minutes

Go Nuts is a fast playing dice game from Gamewright. Players sling dice in hopes of gathering the most acorns. The game can be played in less than 12 minutes and since it's played with dice takes little room to play.

The game consists of 9 custom dice. Five of those dice you roll on your turn. You will either roll an acorn, car, or squirrel. The other die is one that every player has that features a doghouse and a dog. More on this die later.

On your turn, pick up the five dice and roll. Count up the acorns that you rolled. Now you can re-roll all dice that landed on an acorn or a squirrel if you wish. You then will add any acorns on your next roll to your previous total. You can't re-roll cars.

If at any point you roll all squirrels with any number of dice, then you go nuts. First, you lose all your points this round. Next you begin to roll all five dice, counting acorns and then re-rolling all dice. At the same time all players begin to roll their die. Once a player has rolled a dog, then they must bark or players could simply raise their hands for a quieter response. Once all players have rolled a dog, then stop rolling the dice. Add up all the acorns for your score.

If at any point your roll all cars, then your turn is over. You also lose all your points accumulated this round. Play continues until one person reaches 50 points.

Go Nuts! is a fast, frantic dice game that can be fun for all ages. With the "Go Nuts!" rule, all players can get into the game even when it is not their turn to roll the dice. At any point during your turn you can stop rolling the dice and just take the points. Sometimes it might be a safe thing to do but can be tempting to continue to roll if you are close to winning.

The game comes with a score pad and pencil, so you have everything you need to play in the box. This game is very portable and can be played anywhere there is a flat surface to roll the dice. Go Nuts! is a good portable game. Take it with you to beat boredom when you're waiting for your food, for friends, or anything.
