Ninja Assassin – Rain Incredible action and lots of gore. I haven’t seen a movie this bloody in a long time. I guess it’s a good thing I go for this kind of thing. If you’re a fan of martial arts at their finest you’re going to like this movie.
This is a story about Raizo, an orphan boy who has been taken in by a man named Ozunu, played by Sho Kosugi. This misguided “father” or maybe monster would be a better word takes in and trains all the lost kids he can find. Ozunu trains the best ninja assassins in the world to become part of the Ozunu Clan. Along with many other children, Raizo is put to some fierce tests for survival as part of his training. Raizo has a difficult time dealing with the penalties of defeat or what his father considers betrayal. Rain escapes from the clan only to be in constant pursuit.
Along the way he meets a reporter named Mika, played by Naomie Harris, who has stumbled onto some of the secrets of the clan and what they have been up to. Both Raizo and Mika are wanted dead and it soon becomes a game of cat and mouse as Rain fights his brothers while trying to keep Mika alive.
Here are the mistakes I found.
In the scene when Mika is having lunch with her boss, if you watch his drink it keeps changing levels.
In the final fight scene Raizo fights all of his remaining brothers. If you watch the back ground closely the level of blood on the ground and on the items in the background changes from a tremendous amount to almost disappearing.
In an earlier scene Mika’s boss gives her a tracking device in case she is captured. Later in the movie after the Ninjas break in to the hotel room to take a beaten up Raizo back to their father, it shows the capsule on the floor of the hotel room. While Raizo is being tortured for his betrayal he is forced to throw up. On the ground you can see the capsule that Mika had been given by her boss. Did she give it to Raizo? If so, when exactly?
If you don’t mind a little blood, this movie is something to see. The skill of fighting and acrobatics is just stunning. It’s already out on DVD so don’t wait.
