U2 To Take Over Conan O'Brien Show Tonight
Conan O'Brien is known for featuring great musical acts on his late-night talk show. Not only has he featured many up-and-coming bands in the long history of the show, but he's pulled off some amazing guest visits, as well.
Tonight, in a first for the talk show Late Night with Conan O'Brien, legendary rock band U2 will be the show's one and only guest.
In town to play seven...yes, that's right SEVEN...sold-out shows at New York City's Madison Square Garden, U2 is expected to perform several songs during the hour-long show. Their current smash album, "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb," has sold more than three million copies in the U.S. and 10 million worldwide.
In the past, O'Brien's show has pulled unusual musical stunts like a surprise performance by Bruce Springsteen before taking "Late Night" drummer Max Weinberg on the road, a weeklong stay by The White Stripes and a "month-of-Tuesdays" with The Strokes. He's also had guest musicians sit in with his house band on many an occassion.
The show will air tonight, October 06, on NBC. In most markets, Late Night with Conan O'Brien airs between 12:35-1:35 am, following the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, but check your local NBC affiliate to get the correct time. The show also airs in repeats the following week around 3:05am on many NBC affiliates, as well as on the cable news network, CNBC.
