1997 - Tomorrow Never Dies
When a crisis starts to brew between China and England, it’s up to super spy James Bond to find out who the culprit is and put a stop to the escalating tensions. Bond sets his sights on media mogul Elliot Carver who’s empire is more interested in creating the news instead of reporting it. Add to the mix Paris Carver, Elliot’s wife and former Bond flame and Wai Lin, a Chinese intelligence agent who is also investigating the situation. But with Carver bent on making the next headline about 007’s demise, will Bond be able to stop the presses? Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching 1997’s “Tomorrow Never Dies”.
· After retrieving the encoder from Carver’s facility, James Bond arrives via helicopter at the U.S. military base and is met by Jack Wade. Wade is holding his hat in his left hand. When he mentions the “GPS Calibration Unit”, Wade switches the hat to his right hand in the side view. The scene cuts to a front view when Wade mentions “…by the way…”, and the hat is back in his left hand.
· When James is on the plane with Wade about to do his Halo jump, 007’s air mask isn’t there at the very first view. It cuts to a close-up and the mask is to the right of his face, near his chin. It’s gone again when Wade mentions “…seems like an awful lot…”. But the mask is back again in the close-up.
· When Wai Lin tells James she works alone and then handcuffs him to the water pipe, her hair is drenched from having just washed it. But when she walks away and puts on her jacket, her hair appears to be dry.
“Tomorrow Never Dies” (1997) stars Pierce Brosnan, Jonathan Pryce, Michelle Yeoh, Teri Hatcher, Judi Dench, Joe Don Baker, Desmond Llewelyn and Geoffrey Palmer. It runs 119 minutes and is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of action violence, sexuality and innuendo.
