Book Review: I Want My Life Back!
I Want My Life Back. If you have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome/ME, you may have uttered the same cry. The book "I Want My Life Back! Life Management for Busy Women" by Lorraine Bosse'-Smith will guide you through the necessary steps to do just that.
Chapter 1 really grabbed my attention with the title, "How Did I Get Here and When Did I Become My Mother." I remember the day I woke up and asked that very question. Our lives swing out of control, especially mothers, to the neglect of ourselves. This chapter explores different types of stress and ways to alleviate stress. There is a contract in this chapter that we can sign to commit to success. I found the methods of being super-productive interesting. It's called IPPA.
I - Identify what needs to be done.
P - Prioritize your goals and tasks in the order of their importance.
P - Plan when and how your goals and tasks will be achieved.
A - Act to achieve them!
The chapter entitled "Of All the Things I've Lost, I Miss My Mind the Most!" stress the importance of balance in our lives. If we're unbalanced, we become overwhelmed, and we can't think straight (sounds familiar 'fibro-foggers'). Part of being balanced is to "Love Thy Self" enough to take out time for ourselves. This is what most of us have done our whole life-not prioritize time for self.
I Want My Life Back! not only identifies the problem, but also shares various ways and exercises to guide us in taking our lives back in the areas of nutrition, health, our personal life, and spirituality.
