Mr. Tumnus
Lucy meets Mr. Tumnus when she stumbles through the back of the wardrobe into Narnia.
Mr. Tumnus is a Faun. A Faun is a man from the waist up. The lower portion is like a goat. The legs are shaped like a goat. Instead of feet, he has goat's hoofs. Glossy black hair covers his legs. He has a tail.
Tumnus he also has a short pointed beard with a head full of curls and two horns sticking out through the curls - one on each side of his head. His skin has a reddish color and his appearance is a bit unusual!
Lucy is the first human he has ever seen. When they meet, Mr. Tumnus is carrying an umbrella and a load of parcels. His only clothing is a red wool muffler around his neck. Another unusual thing about him!
In the valley in Narnia there is a cave in some reddish stone - this is where Mr. Tumnus lives. Not sure if this plays any importance in his reddish skin color - reddish stone / reddish skin? Unusual!
Tumnus plays the flute. He tells wonderful stories of dancing with Nymphs and Dryads. Unfortunately, he is a pawn as an employee of the White Witch. He is a kidnapper, but he lets Lucy return home.
The White Witch learns Mr. Tumnus' part in Lucy's escape. She captures him. Mr. Tumnus is turned into a stone statue.
