I have recently started blogging, a way to try and get myself noticed more and show my passion for journalism but also because it doesn't seem like a chore and I like doing it. I have always said in these articles how quotes are everywhere, daily quotes, tv quotes, music quotes, words on posters...

Everytime I do a blog post and when I publish it, at the side it comes up with a quote about writing, seeing as that is what blogging is doing. They are always inspiring, I guess giving people the motivation to write. They know they will be appreciated by those who see them as part of the reason for setting up a blog is because you have some love, in some form, for writing or words.

This is the one that came up today, and even though the majority of the quotes I see could easily have an article on them, for some reason I chose this one. It seems ambiguous at first with what it is trying to say, but I think I chose it because it very much applies to me and the idea of starting a blog.

I started one, maybe for the wrong reasons, because blogging is a good way to make you stand out, to show your writing abilities and to show you have an interest in keeping in touch with the world through words. Obviously basing my blog on journalism itself just gave it that added bonus. When I first started I made a conscious effort to think of things to write and what to say, having a pretty big gap between two blog posts because I wasn't sure what to write about. But recently I think the more I am writing, the more I want to write. It's satisfying writing about something that interests me and that I have a strong opinion on and journalism itself is definitely one of those things. I don't feel at a loss of things to write and the more blog posts I write, the more desire I have to carry on. The fact that it doesn't seem a chore, I think shows how someone has a love of words to express what they want to say.

So with me, especially with blogging, the desire to write has grown with writing. I guess this is a pretty good trait to hold if you want to be a journalist and the more you write, the more you learn about your style and your own voice.
