Family with 5 autistic children to be profiled on Good Morning America
The family was profiled in March of 2005 in the USA TODAY. I also found another article online at the Austin American Statesman site.
Jeanette and Patrick O'Donnell have six children, five happen to be on the Autism Spectrum. Good Morning America - Monday, August 15, 2005 7-9 am, ABC networks
***UPDATE*** The show was bumped to Tuesday, August 16, 2005 and shown during the 8 am telecast. The full story is One Family's Struggle with Autism
The family has a lot of love and laughter. It was mentioned that all the children have speech challenges. This was part of the GMA American Family series.
**UPDATE** On Sunday, February 18, 2007 the O'Donnell family will be profiled on the ABC show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. "The only documented family in the U.S. with five autistic children will receive a much needed home. Country music star Trace Adkins performs at a benefit for the family." The show is on at 8 pm ET/PT and 6 pm Central.
If you miss the show once it has aired the website will have the details on the makeover with photos and interviews with the family. There is also a blog for the television show that you can read from the designers. I plan on having my higher functioning son view with me and hope to learn some new ideas on decorating and organizing the household. We will be taping it as well.
