A refreshing dessert that takes full advantage of summer-ripened strawberries.

Ingredients
6 cups strawberries, cleaned, hulled and halved
1/4 cup orange juice
14 granulated sugar
2 cups heavy cream
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
1. In a medium-sized bowl, add the strawberries, orange juice and granulated sugar.
2. Toss the mixture and let sit for 15 minutes.
3. In a chilled bowl and with chilled beaters, whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Refrigerate.
4. Place 4 cups of the strawberry mixture in a blender and blend until smooth. Transfer to a bowl and freeze for 10 minutes.
5. Combine the strawberry mixture and whipped cream mixture with a whisk.
6. On the bottom of small bowl or individual dessert glasses, place a layer of the strawberry cream mixture, add a layer of the reserved strawberries and to off with another layer of strawberry cream mixture.
7. Add fresh strawberries for garnish. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.
