The Wrights - Down This Road
Get ready for a new duo to invade your radio airwaves. The Wrights have released their debut CD titled "Down This Road" and it is wonderful. From the opening track to the last one, it is one great listen.
This married duo has a harmony together that reminds this listener of the days of Tammy Wynette and George Jones, let's just hope they have a better "happily ever after" than Tammy and George. Every song on the CD has been written by this take charge couple. If they can find their niche, this duo is going places quick.
Adam & Shannon Wright put their life experience into their music and it shows. After meeting in 1998, they put their harmonies together and discovered that they blended pretty well, both professionally and personally.
Track 1: Down This Road is about being hurt so many times that it doesn't hurt any longer. Though the song isn't a ballad, the hurt comes through the vocals.
Track 2: Hard Time comes across to this listener as a parent talking to the hard headed child of the family. You know the one, he/she thinks that they know it all and just won't listen to what anyone has to say.
Track 3: Knew All Along is about the loss of someone close to you. The first thought I had when I heard it was of my Grandmother who I lost a few years ago, the things I learned from her and that "he had taken his Angel home".
Track 4: On the Rocks is a tongue in cheek song about a marriage being on the rocks and how little things that your spouse does that drive you crazy.
Track 5: Hole in My Pocket talks about working too hard and not making enough money. There are things that need to be taken care of that can't be because there isn't enough money.
Track 6: Butterflies is about a love that you know isn't the one that you are waiting for and giving it up. You care about the person, but not that everlasting, can't live without you love.
Track 7: You're in Georgia Now" talks about the things that Adam loves about Georgia. The tomatoes in the garden, sitting on the front porch and so much more.
Track 8: Roller Coaster is about that ups and downs of love.
Track 9: Do You Love Me talks about how you know if you are making someone happy or not.
Track 10: Leave A Light On is the one song on the CD that includes a special guest, Alan Jackson. Originally intended as a Gospel song, it is generic enough that not everyone gets it.
Track 11: Waiting On Something Good talks about good things coming, especially to those that wait.
Track 12: You Got the Thorns talks about how one person got the better end of the deal when they got together.
