There are times that we find ourselves in situations that require an answer from God immediately.  We pray for things to change, but things stay the same.  There are other times that things appear to get worse.  We ask the question why.  Does God hear my prayer?
 
What do we do when we trust God, but it seems as if he does not hear us or just refuses to answer.  Paul once said there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.  Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away form me. (2 Corinthians 12:7-8)
 
In this instance, Paul did not receive the answer that he was seeking.  The answer he received from God is My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
 
In another instance we find Job 30:20, who found himself in great anguish, wondering why his prayers were unanswered. I cry out to you, God, but you do not answer; I stand up, but you merely look at me. He believed that he had done no wrong, so he did not deserve to be dealt with so harshly.  He took the time to examine himself, but found nothing.  Once he realized that God is in control, he was restored double of everything that he lost.  He too realized that God’s grace is sufficient.  If we read Job 1:6-8, One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them.  The Lord said to Satan, “where have you come from”  Satan answered the Lord, From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”  Then the Lord said to Satan, Have you considered my servant Job?  There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.” Job’s prayers went unanswered, but there was a good reason.  This was a test of faith.  
 
As we compare our own situation to Job and Paul, we have to ask, are we actually receiving answers to prayer when we don’t get the answer that we are looking for?  God’s grace is sufficient. We may not receive the answer that we want, when we want it.  His answer may be not now or wait. Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:5)(
 
Waiting can be very difficult, especially if we are in a bad situation, or even racked with pain in our bodies.  The last thing we want to hear is hold, on, be patient, his grace is sufficient.  This is where trust comes into the picture.  When we truly believe that we will receive what we ask for, we can wait with anticipation because we know that an answer is coming. Be patient, but keep praying.  Never give up.  The blessing that you seek is right around the corner.
