Updo for Very Long Hair - With a Twist

Updo for Very Long Hair - With a Twist
Very long hair is can be a nightmare to hairdressers who are faced with creating a wedding or prom updo. It is difficult to handle literaly too much hair. Visions of their beautiful style falling down in the middle of the ceremony or the prom can strike fear into anyone's heart. However that super long hair can be styled into an updo as long as each part of the style is firmly controled.

Stacy of the Elegant Styles Hair Salon and Spa in Fort Wayne, Indiana, created this attractive updo with ease using the following method.

Begin by dividing the back half of the hair off and then twisting it into a french roll. The roll is secured with bobby pins that are inserted down through the center of the twist. Use long bobby pins until it feels tight.

When the french roll is secure, move to the front of the hair style. All of the hair in front is curled with a curling iron.

After using the curling iron, individual narrow strands of hair are pulled back to the top of the twist and pinned in place, using bobby pins, allowing the ends to form the curl.

Finish this beautiful style by smoothing the bangs to the side or if you prefer, pull them straight back into the updo.

As an accent, tuck a flower or other lovely ornament into the curls. For a bridal style, tuck a veil into the curls.
