A Trio of Bratz Board Games
I'm generally not the biggest fan of "fad games", games that are based solely on a popular toy or movie that generally don't stand the test of time. However, if they get kids who are reticent to play board games to give them a try, I'm all for them. Three new games by MGA Entertainment that are based on the wildly popular Bratz dolls line might just do the trick.
Bratz Babyz Stylin' Scavenger Hunt is based on the Bratz Babyz line. Each player moves around the board to different shops and tries to collect 9 of the items (out of 48 item cards) that belong specifically to them.
Bratz Rock Angelz World Tour is based on the Bratz DVD movie of the same name. Players travel around the world (aka the playing board) playing rock concerts and collecting money for doing so. This game does have one great benefit: geography! For kids who didn't know where Tokyo or Cairo was on the world map, they'll find out..
Bratz Head Gamez is, it seems to me, the most fun game out of the three. Each player gets a model doll and moves along the playing board path trying to get permission to put another accessory or makeup item on their doll. The game comes with real makeup, hair accessories and stick-on jewelry, which they really put on their models. Most little girls I know adore makeup and the idea of a game where they get to put makeup on a doll will likely seem very fun to them.
While these games might not be long-lasting additions to your game closet, they will provide entertainment for your girls who are completely obsessed with the Bratz line. They're also quite reasonably priced, cheap enough that you could buy two and donate one to your local holiday toy drive.
