Bourbon Grilled Steak

Bourbon Grilled Steak

Sirloin or rib eye steaks are marinated in a homemade bourbon sauce, then grilled to perfection.

  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 T. sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 to 3 pounds boneless sirloin or rib eye steak - about 1" thick

Preparation -
Whisk the bourbon, soy sauce, water, sugar and garlic together. Place the steaks in a ziptop bag. Add the marinade. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 4 to 6 hours or overnight, turning the bag over occasionally. Prepare a charcoal fire or preheat a gas grill. Oil the grill rack or spray it generously with non-stick cooking spray. Remove the steaks from the marinade. Discard the marinade. Grill the steaks over hot coals for about seven to eight minutes per side for medium rare. Add about two more minutes per side for medium or extra time to grill to your desired doneness, turning over one time while grilling.
