A Few Tips On Using The Site Search
Here's how to get the most out of the site search and find the dream symbols you're searching for.
The Symbols Dictionary is organized into specific categories. You may want to browse the Dictionary before using the search function.
This is how our search works. When you are on the Dreams site, the search will search this site first. You will then have the option of searching the entire Bella site by clicking on the link you are given after you receive those results.
Because you're already on the Dreams site, you really don't have to use the word "dream" in your search. When you do include "dream" in your search, you will usually get several pages of results - or nothing at all!
The single most important component to a successful search is to use one single word. Our search works best with single words, so instead of entering something like, "dreaming about sharks," simply enter "shark" or "sharks." For example, a recent search for "intruder in the house" yielded no results, yet we do have an article on this symbol. Its title is "Dream Symmbols - Intruder."
Often, you may need to put several symbols together. For instance, if you dreamed of a white shark, search for "shark" and "white" or "color" separately, because the shark and the color are actually two separate, distinct symbols.
The system gives us limited space for keywords. If you run a website, you're familiar with this problem! This is true for any site since search engines accept a limited number of keywords. If we write an article on food as a symbol, there simply isn't room to add every type of food that exists. Start with the most general word before breaking it down into specifics. If you dreamed of a tsunami, search for "water" or another natural disaster, such as "tornado." If you are looking for "apple" and we don't yet have an article dealing specifically with apples, try a more general term such as "fruit", "food" or "eating." I've tried to include misspelled words in the keywords, but there are too many possibilities for some symbols. If your keyword is spelled incorrectly, you may not get results. I've tried to include both singular and plural forms as well but can't always do that, so try both forms of your symbols term.
Avoid using punctuation such as commas, hyphens and semicolons. The search doesn't like those at all!
We are adding new articles all the time. Most of the general areas have been covered. If there is a symbol you've encountered in your dream and it has not been covered, please e-mail me (you'll find a contact link on the bio page) or post your request in the forum. I do use your feedback to decide which articles to write next! Your input is extremely valuable and I appreciate your support of the Dreams site.
May all your dreams come true!
