SitePoint.com
SitePoint.com is one of the best resources for information and inspiration about web development and design. The SitePoint Network was started as Webmaster-Resources.com by Matt Mickiewicz in 1997. Now it has grown into one of my favorite places to visit. SitePoint.com includes an online magazine, forums, newsletters and books for the webmaster and web designer. The online magazine has seven major sections. Before You Code - This section contains information about general topics such as web hosting, domain names, and legal issues. Design and Layout - Here you will find information for webmasters and designers covering such topics as design and usability, design principles, Flash and other design and authoring software. Client Side Coding - Articles and tutorials about client side languages. HTML, XHTML, CSS , Javascript and more. Server Side Coding - Articles and tutorials about server side languages. CGI, PHP, ASP, Databases and more. Site Strategy - Information for running your site such as building and maintaining a community, ecommerce on your site and more. Site Marketing - Information for marketing your site with search engines, traffic analysis, banner exchange, online advertising and more. Sell Your Services - Content for the professional webmaster and web designer such as finding and keeping clients, how to work more efficiently and more. SitePoint.com has four newsletters: SitePoint Tribune, SitePoint TechTimes, SitePoint Design View and SitePoint Community Crier. These newsletters keep you informed as to new articles and books and cover basically the same areas as the sections on the website itself. You will also find several forums that are very popular. Finally, you can purchase books and kits published by the site. They even let you download a sample chapter from these books before you buy. |
