Everybody loves those Tasty food videos that people constantly paste on Facebook; they are created by Buzzfeed, and show step-by-step instructions for making delicious dishes in less than a minute. The only problem is that it’s hard to follow them without pausing, and most of us have to go back and watch them over and over. That’s why I Love Tasty; The Unofficial Cookbook is so nice. Catrine Kelty has captured the videos and given step-by-step instructions on a written page, so when we prepare those tempting dishes, we don’t have to watch it over and over and pause it. It’s nice too, to have the ingredients and instructions on a written page.
Actually, I Love Tasty; The Unofficial Cookbook is just a regular cookbook with lots of pictures of instructions, but because the recipes are like the ones we get on Facebook, it makes it more fun. This cookbook is a winner!
There are recipes here for everyone, and most are quick and easy. The photographs are well-done, and the book is well-organized. There are appetizers, salads, main dishes, side dishes, and desserts, so no matter what the occasion, there is a recipe that will fit.
The best part, of course, is that the recipes actually turn out like the pictures, and they actually taste good. Some recipes introduce time-saving shortcuts that busy cooks will use again and again. The Asian-Inspired Cucumber Salad is delicious and goes well with the Griddled Thai Chicken Sandwiches for a complete lunch or light supper. Other excellent recipes include yummy Cheddar Bacon Muffins, Naan Mini Pizzas, Ham and Cheese Cauliflower Gratin, and Panko Baked Chicken Cutlets. There is an easy stir-fry, juicy turkey burgers, and even a shortcut chicken pot pie.
The recipes are geared to cooks with little or no experience, but will also appeal to those who have more advanced skills. I Love Tasty is fun, and would make a great gift.
