* These two joins are awkward and doing the alligator join will be awkward too. So, try this method: bring the last double stitch of the chain up to the ring to which it will join. Using crochet hook pull up a small loop of the core thread between two double stitches, pass the second shuttle thread through the loop and then tighten the join down.
