Citrus and Nectarine, Body Scrub for a Queen
The weather is hot and you're looking for the best way to keep your skin cool. Tank tops and sundresses top the list. But have you prepared your skin to show off its best Glow? Body scrubs will give you the softness and beauty wanted as you move through the summer months. Scrubs are not just for summer. If you keep your skin soft and smooth all year long, you won't have the dry, dull and ashy skin often associated with the winter months.
Time to allow your creative side to meet the fruits of summer. Enter the aroma of a summer body scrub, it's good enough to eat.
From the book Kale and Caramel Recipes for Body, Heat and Table, written by Lily Damond, I'm sharing the Citrus Nectarine Body Scrub recipe.
You Will Need
1 Tablespoon orange zest
a small bowl
Zester
Mortar & Pestle/Fork
1 small ripe nectarine
1 cup raw sugar
2 Tablespoons raw coconut oil, melted
A Spoon
An airtight container
You'll place the orange zest in a small bowl and use a zester to grate the skin of the nectarine into the same bowl. Set this aside. Using a mortar and pestle or fork, roughly mash the nectarine. Add the sugar and melted coconut oil and stir. Add in the orange and nectarine zest and continue folding and blending. After everything is blended, spoon your scrub into an airtight container and keep it in the refrigerator. It's best used immediate, however it should last you at least two days when kept in the fridge.
This scrub is for your body only. If you wanted to have an exfoliant for your face, you could choose oils such as jojoba, grapeseed, almond or apricot. The coconut oil had a tendency to clog the pores of some people when used on your face.
When you exfoliate your skin, it makes it feel oh, so , smooth and soft. It also brings a natural glow to your skin. Bare those shoulders and have some hot fun in the summertime.
That's it for this week.
