New Mercy Every Morning
I’m studying Lamentations 3:22-24 as my memory verse. Read it in your own Bible and chosen translation. If I were to put these verses it in my own words, it go something like this:
God’s mercy never runs out. He has an endless supply. It is brand new every morning. Dear Lord, you are so faithful. I will count on God. All my hope is in him.
When we put our faith in Jesus Christ, we have received mercy. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 ESV The “free gift” is grace.
We deserved death because of sin, but God made us His child. Who would do that? As His child, we receive answered prayer when we pray according to his will. (Matthew 7:11, 1 John 5:14)
Let’s examine “mercies new every morning.”
Even when I fail. Even when I forget, or when I doubt God’s love, his mercies are continue. No matter how much was forgiven yesterday, when I come to him today, in repentance and in trust, God’s forgiveness never fails. New every morning--not the left-overs, not faded, not wearing thin. God’s mercy is just as strong and faithful and New as it ever was. As strong as it was when he died for me before I even knew him.
Trust doesn’t come easy. We live in a transient world. Everything can be going smoothly, our days proceeding as expected, then something happens to throw our peaceful life into chaos. Life is out of our control, and we must choose to lean of God. He has promised he is in command. (See the Scripture list below.)
Acknowledge daily mercies, and soon you will see the Father’s hand in everything.
God never runs out of love. Go to him every morning. He never fails. He is waiting with arms wide open, as if it were the first time.

- Mercy:
- the discretionary power of a judge to pardon someone. A person may deserve death for a crime, but the judge commutes his sentence.
Or in our case, he takes the punishment for us.

- Stop concentrating on the problem. Tell God it is in his hands and you can’t wait to see how he uses it for good.
- Look for daily mercies, even the smallest of blessings.
- Be grateful for the little mercies and the big. Put your gratitude into words or into prayer.
- Tell someone else.
Acknowledge daily mercies, and soon you will see the Father’s hand in everything.
