Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban
The adventures of Harry Potter and friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger continued in “Harry Potter and the Prisoner Azkaban”. Harry’s third year at Hogwarts found the young wizard fleeing from his Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia’s home after an altercation with Vernon’s sister, Marge. If that wasn’t bad enough, add to the mix the possibility of escaped prisoner and Harry’s godfather, Sirius Black, coming after him for retribution, the potential deadly threat of the Dementors, and the introduction of Professor Lupin, the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher with a mysterious secret. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”.
∙ Each student is carrying a copy of the “Monster Book of Monsters” while they’re walking to Hagrid’s Care of Magical Creatures class. After explaining about hippogriffs, Harry approaches Buckbeak. Ron’s book can be seen in his left hand during some views and has vanished in other views of him.
∙ Hagrid is standing in the lake telling Harry, Ron and Hermione that Buckbeak is going to be executed. During the scene, Harry is sitting against a rock. A background view of him shows Harry getting up and walking away from the rock, standing closer to the edge of the water. But, in the next view from behind, Harry is once again against the rock.
∙ Harry sees Peter Pettigrew’s name on the Marauder’s Map and leaves his room to find him. He’s caught by Professor Snape in the corridor. During the scene, the strings on Harry’s shirt switch from hanging straight down in some views. In other views, the string on Harry’s right is crossed over the left one.
∙ Harry, Ron and Hermione, flee from Hagrid’s hut after Dumbledore, Cornelius Fudge and the Executioner arrive. The three of them run behind the pumpkins and stop. When Hermione hears something she turns around to see what it is. When she turns back around, she does so in a counter clockwise motion before they run off. When Hermione and Harry go back in time, they watch the same scene unfold while they’re hiding in the forest. Hermione once again hears something and turns around. However, instead of turning counter clockwise before running off, she’s shown turning clockwise.
“Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” (2004) stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Michael Gambon, Maggie Smith, Robbie Coltrane, Fiona Shaw, Richard Griffiths, Alan Rickman, Pam Ferris, Gary Oldman, David Thewlis, Emma Thompson, Dawn French, Mark Williams, Julie Walters, Bonnie Wright, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Matthew Lewis, and Tom Felton. It runs 142 minutes and is rated PG for frightening moments, creature violence and mild language.
