Tom Savage’s novel, Mrs. John Doe tells the story of Nora Baron, who has just received a call that her husband, Jeff has been killed in an automobile accident while working in London. Her husband’s body is labeled John Doe. As she travels to identify and claim his body, she encounters suspicious people, finds someone is after her, and happens upon an illegal arms deal that involves multiple murders. Nora doesn’t know who to trust, and as her world crumbles around her, she finds she must act in order to save herself and her family.

Nora, who is a professional actress, uses her skills as the suspense builds, and those skills may be the determining factor for whether she lives or dies. Savage is an excellent writer, and tells the story in such a way that readers will be on the edges of their seats during the entire book. He has a way of making the characters seem real, and readers will not be certain who the good guys or the bad guys are until the very end. The level of suspense in this novel is palpable, and it will be next to impossible to put down.

Savage’s writing style is similar to several of the bestselling thriller authors, and it will only be a matter of time (if it isn’t already) when this book hits the bestseller lists. It’s that good. Nora is likeable, but doesn’t always make the best decisions and has lapses in judgment that most readers will be able to relate to. It’s always nice to read about a likeable character that isn’t perfect, but has the ability to win against the odds.

Readers who like lots of suspense, no graphic sex or violence, and scenarios that ring true will want to pick up and read this excellent novel.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a copy of this novel for a fair and honest review.
