Long Wavy Hair
Sometimes your long hair may have too much wave to look good straight - at least without the use of a flat or straightening iron - but it may not have enough wave to look good when left on its own. This type of hair is the perfect fabric for a scrunched in wavy hair style.
Natural wave often needs to be coaxed into style. Using the proper technique and the proper products will result in the beautiful naturally wavy hair style you were meant to have.
If your hair is fine, you will want to use product to build up texture. Apply a liberal amount of flexible hair gel or styling foam. Using hair serum also helps to build body as well add shine and get rid of frizz. Comb all of the product through your hair, using a comb with wide teeth. Grab small sections of hair and scrunch (squeeze - making a fist) while allowing it to dry naturally. If you are short on time and need to speed up the process, use a diffuser attachment that fits on your hair dryer. A diffuser softens the air flow from your dryer while keeping the warmth. Keep on scrunching your hair until it is completely dry. If you are impatient, remember that it is not a good idea to use your hair dryer without the diffuser attachment. This will usually cause frizz and defeat the natural wave.
To encourage more fullness on the top, make sure that your styling product is applied close to the roots. Then grab sections of hair and scrunch close to the scalp encouraging more wave at the root area of your hair.
