Watchmen
It’s 1985 and the world is on the brink of nuclear war. But when superhero, The Comedian, is murdered, the hot tempered Rorschach takes it upon himself to get to the bottom of what is really going on and who’s behind it. In order to do so, he may need the help of his fellow heroes to uncover the plot behind their systemic annihilation as well as the plan to destroy the world. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Watchmen”.
∙ When the military pallbearers take the Comedian’s coffin out of the hearse and begin to carry it across the cemetery, the blue part of the flag with the stars is on the shoulders of the second and third men on the left side. In the overhead view, when they’re walking up to the gravesite, the blue part of the flag is near the first two men on the right.
∙ After the photo shoot in the 1940s, Silk Spectre is changing clothes. She’s wearing her black glove on her right arm in the rear view when she unties her belt. It cuts to a front view when she starts to unbutton her dress and she’s not wearing it.
∙ Rorschach is talking to the prison psychiatrist after he’s been arrested. The third picture the psychiatrist shows him has three large black blotches in the middle and two dots toward the top. Rorshach remembers back to his childhood with the two bullies. It cuts back to the therapist holding the picture and the ink drawing is different than the one he had asked Rorschach about.
∙ Silk Spectre II aka Laurie lands on the roof of the prison during the riots. She’s shown wearing the black, high heeled boots. But a few minutes later, when she’s fighting her way down the cell block, the view of her show she’s wearing black boots but they’re flat.
“Watchmen” (2009) stars Malin Akerman, Billy Crudup, Patrick Wilson, Jackie Earle Haley, Matthew Goode, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Carla Gugino. It runs 162 minutes and is rated R for strong graphic violence, sexuality, nudity and language.
