The Expendables 3
It’s a mix of old blood versus new blood in the third installment of this action/adventure series. Things become personal for Barney when a mission goes awry after he realizes that the arms dealer they’re gunning for is none other than Conrad Stonebanks, a former founding member of the Expendables thought to be long dead. But when Barney puts together a younger team, it’s up to the reliable seasoned veterans to ultimately save the day. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “The Expendables 3”.
∙ At the very beginning of the movie, when the team is trying to break Doc from the railcar taking him back to Denal Prison, the team runs a cable across the train track. The overhead view of Christmas, Gunner and Toll Road as they’re running to the helicopter, shows Gunner gets in on the left side while Christmas and Toll Road are on the right. A few moments later in the close-up, they’ve switched sides with Gunner on the chopper’s right and Christmas and Toll Road on the left.
∙ In Mogadishu, the team is under fire and Barney yells “come on” as he’s holding onto the edge of the railcar. It cuts to a far view of Caesar and Gunner in the boat and Caesar has his bullet belt for his gun hanging on his left shoulder. It cuts to a close-up of him when he says “It’s time to mow the lawn” and the bullets are already loaded into the gun. When he starts firing, it cuts to a view of Barney still holding onto the railcar and then back to Caesar, and the bullets are back over his left shoulder. They’re gone again when Gunner says “told you…”.
∙ Barney and Galgo are about to take off in the plane. Both of the plane’s propellers are working. When they see the team standing outside, Galgo asks who they are and Barney answers “my old team”. It cuts to an outside view from behind Christmas and the plane’s left propeller is at a complete standstill. But when the guys walk toward the plane, both propellers are running.
∙ Near the end of the movie, Smilee is on the motorcycle. When he sees Barney under attack, he rides the motorcycle up the tail of the plane and grabs onto a bar on the outside wall. He’s wearing his helmet during the scene and still has it on when he drops to the floor. But when he tosses Barney the gun a moment later, his helmet is gone.
“The Expendables 3” stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Kelsey Grammer, Glen Powell, Antonio Banderas, Victor Ortiz, Ronda Rousey and Kellan Lutz. It runs 126 minutes and is rated PG-13 for violence including intense sustained gun battles and fight scenes and for language.
