Dressing For the Holidays
Okay ethnic beauties, there's nothing like getting all dolled up for the Holiday season. With so many parties, dinners and dinner parties to attend … what should a girl wear? Whether it's at the office, family gathering or for a hot date, your choice of apparel and accessories will be key.
Dressing For The:
Office Party - Don't get carried away with your make up or your attire. Heavy cat eye liners, gold glitter mascara and V-necks that are opened to your belly button won't cut it. It's the office party, remember?
However, a black cashmere sweater, paired with a knee length skirt or a pair of sleek trousers and red suede pumps will be a stunning and appropriate look for the office party. Add jewelry and you can use this look for day and evening.
Family Gathering - You know what's it's like to go to family gatherings. You're going to eat until you feel the buttons stretching on your pants/skirt. While this might not be the best approach you're among family and friends and you've been waiting for this moment to arrive.
Grandma laid her hands on the meal and you've been dreaming about this gathering for months. So, wear clothing that will be comfortable and loose fitting. A nice flowing top and that pair of pull on pants that you save for this time of year will be great.
Dress this outfit up with a beautiful pair of earrings and bracelets. Notice I did not mention a necklace. You don't want it getting in the way of your food.
Hot Date - Keep in mind the venue you'll be taken to. I personally like to wear Winter white at Holiday time. The classic black dress can also be worn in winter white and paired with a great pair of animal print shoes. A winter white cashmere sweater and a pair of trousers worn with the same red suede pumps from the office party can also be an option.
Classic Pieces
The key to any well put together wardrobe is classic pieces. By classic I mean:
cashmere sweaters ( in black, winter white , pearl gray and/or red),
LBD - (Little Black Dress),
a black skirt,
a white or winter/white skirt,
a white French cuff blouse/shirt,
a cardigan jacket
a wardrobe of shoes (black pumps, red suede pumps, sandals, boots)
Jewelry (pearls, pearls, pearls), scarves, handbags ( a clutch is a must)
Dressing for the Holidays can be lots of fun. No matter what you decide to wear, just make sure you love it and it's comfortable.
That's it for this week,
