Shaun Of The Dead
Who’s the real zombie in this 2004 comedy-horror flick? Shaun’s life is a dull and monotonous routine of working, going to the pub and hanging out with his friend Ed with the only bright spot being his girlfriend, Liz, who he is at risk of losing. But things take a sudden turn when the dead start coming back to life. Shaun and Ed make it their mission to rescue Shaun’s mom, Barbara (although his step-father’s safety is questionable) as well as Liz and her flat mates, Dianne and David, with the eventual motive of holding up at their favorite local pub until help arrives. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Shaun of the Dead”.
∙ While he’s at work, Shaun gets a red ink stain on the pocket of his white shirt. The ink spot changes sizes through the next few scenes. The next day, Shaun puts a jacket over it. Once the chaos ensues and the jacket comes off, the ink stain is gone as well.
∙ When Shaun and Ed have to confront the two zombies in the backyard, they opt to throw pieces of Shaun’s record collection at them. The first record they toss is noticeably thrown by/away from the male zombie. But, when the scene cuts to a close-up, the record is shown smashing into his face.
∙ Also during this scene, when the first male zombie is hit with the record, the album shatters and a piece is sticking out of his face. In the very next view, the record piece is missing.
∙ Shaun and Ed go to Barbara and Philip’s house. When they first arrive, the Jaguar belonging to Philip is parked in the front with a sponge on the hood and an overturned bucket beside the front left wheel. The sponge is still on the car when everyone leaves. But, when Shaun is shown leaving the house, the bucket is to his left, overturned near the garage.
∙ While trying to escape the zombies, Ed drives the Jaguar into several people who bounce onto the hood and on the windshield. Although there is quite an impact, the vehicle suffers no damage; not even the slightest scratch or dent.
“Shaun of the Dead” (2004) stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Kate Ashfield, Lucy Davis, Dylan Moore, Penelope Wilton and Bill Nighy. It runs 99 minutes and is rated R for zombie violence/gore and language.
