Dress Code - Sunday Brunch Wear
Sunday rolls around every week and whether it is an after-church pastime, or some cool hipster ritual, brunch has literally become a fixture in weekend activities for the fashion forward. This breakfast/lunch combination has transformed into a stylish event that many women anticipate. The question that immediately follows the decision to go to brunch is, 'What are you wearing?’ It may sound crazy, but ladies actually expect an answer.
The laid back vibe usually works. After all, it is Sunday and no one wants to look like they spent hours coming up with an outfit, even if they did put a considerable amount of thought into it. Contradictory, but true. Wearing a loose basic tee shirt with skinny jeans and a cap is perfect. Simplicity never fails. Slightly baggy jeans are also a great option as they give off the laissez-faire feel that embodies Sunday Brunch. Finalize the tee shirt and jeans duo with monochromatic makeup or a pop of color via a red lip. Makeup is a great way to accentuate features, especially when the outfit itself is toned down.
For those that are more bold, kick this laid back look into high gear with accessories. Statement pieces like chunky necklaces and bracelets add a flair of elegance and spunk to the mix. Leather jackets have a similar appeal, given their rocker chic aesthetic. These items are also conversation pieces because the one thing that is better than having a fierce outfit is talking about it!
Virtually anything can be worn for brunch -tulle skirts, denim tops, bodycon dresses, tank tops, maxi skirts,, leggings, thigh high boots or jumpsuits, to name a "few". The key to nailing these ensembles is confidence. Having an ownership of self gives off such an authoritative vibe, that no one can dispute. .
The next time Sunday Brunch rolls around, wear whatever suits you. Be fierce in a two-piece jumpsuit or mellow in a baby doll dress and flat sandals. Look and feel your best. As for the food itself, that's another story.
