Japanese Mini Toys Make Great Inexpensive Gifts

Guest Author - Taisha Turner

Going to Japan or another part of Asia? Looking for cute, inexpensive gifts for the people back home? Bring home a Japan Mini.

What is a Japan Mini? A Japan Mini is a little toy in a capsule. They are usually 10 cm tall and are sold in vending machines. The toy reached the Japan market in 1965.

Over time, collecting the plastic toys have become a cult phenomenon. Many rare ones are worth hundreds of dollars. The fun is in collecting the entire series. Anime or comic characters are the basis of many Japan Mini series, but the subject matter may be anything. The hobby is a challenge as the toys are sold randomly.

Think of Beanie Babies, the little toys sold in fast food places. Collecting the Beanie Babies became a craze.

Purchase a few Japan Mini for gifts. They will easily fit in the luggage.

Travel and holiday photographs cluttering the place? Leather or fabric albums are good choice to organize them. Select archival albums with acid-free paper and archival glue and photo corners. Check for PVC-free plastic, if pages are magnetic.
