Sensible Clean Eating Tips That Work

Clean eating is one of the best ways to speed up the weight loss process but how clean do you really need to eat for permanent weightloss? Ask any fitness trainer and they’ll quickly say that getting a lean toned body is 90% diet. But what if you’ve tried that and the only thing you managed to accomplish was consistent cheating? Keep reading to find out what you really need to focus on when it comes to healthy eating for permanent weight loss.

Focus on your trouble zones
In order to clean up your diet you first need to uncover your biggest eating trouble zone. What are your biggest clean eating issues? Do you avoid vegetables, do you skip meals, do you binge when tired, do you rely on stimulants for energy all the time, do you overeat when stressed, etc. Once you pinpoint your biggest trouble zone, work on clean eating solutions that will help you fix that one zone. The more you focus on your biggest trouble area the easier it gets to clean up your smaller trouble zones.

Focus on habits not just on clean foods
When most of us set out to clean up our diets we tend to focus too much on foods instead of on the habits that motivate us to eat the foods we choose. It’s important not to play the good foods bad foods game. There are definitely foods that are healthier for you than others and it’s o.k. to choose unhealthy foods from time to time but what matters most is how often you make better choices. Keep track of your food choices in a diet journal and you’ll discover a lot about why you choose not to eat clean sometimes.

Be honest about how clean you want to eat
How clean do you really want to eat? Do you want to be 100% compliant and never touch junk food again? Are you happy with 80-90% of your meals being clean? Are you only willing to clean it up 50-60% of the time? The honest truth is that most people don’t want to be perfect and that’s o.k. but it’s important that you decide how clean to eat and then try to stick to that most of the time. Consistency will help you lose weight much faster, keeps you from stressing about food all the time and makes planning cheat meals much easier.
