Six For Success Ends"Six For Success Ends" contains the last three problems and solutions of my "Choc-list" begun in "Six For Success Begins." Please go back and read the first three. Thank you. Problem 4: You always look at other bowlers and feel down because, "I'm not as good as them." Comparing yourself to others never helps because you will constantly feel as if you're never good enough. Why would anyone want to feel this way? Solution 4: "You are you and they are they." You can only be yourself and have to do your best to improve yourself. You must develop your own game and style. Watch the PBA Tour and the higher average bowlers in your area and notice that each one has their own style. They are focused on their own game and not comparing themselves to the other person. Write down what is best about you and your game, keep revising the list, and refer to it often, especially when you get the urge to compare yourself to another bowler. Problem 5: You have a belief that you won't get to the objective that you've set for yourself. You feel as if you don't deserve what you want and that you'll either never get there, or you'll simply, "mess it up anyway." Solution 5: Take your list from SOLUTION 3, (see "Six For Success Begins"). Think about how each milestone, award, or accomplishment made you feel. You deserved each and every one of them. Write down how you felt before you got those achievements, how you felt when you got what you wanted, and how you feel now. Are you limiting yourself because of your beliefs? If you are, repeat this exercise as often as you need to convince yourself to get rid of your self-limiting way of thinking. Problem 6: You feel you have no purpose for bowling (do not confuse this with your bowling objective). This is more along the lines of, "What is your why?" Why are you determined to be a better bowler? Why will you continue to practice even if you feel a little tired? Why will you keep pushing forward even if there are set-backs? Solution 6: Define and write down your, "Why's." Think about it. Refine it. Set it in your mind because it must be something that defines your purpose for bowling better. Create your personal, individualized, "statement of purpose." It should only be one or two sentences; but, will encompass all your "Why's" into it. "I will be a more determined and better bowler by studying all aspects of the sport of bowling in order that I can pass along my knowledge by helping to develop and coach others and by fostering and promoting the sport." A Hui Hou! (See You Again!)
