havoc Television® champions indie music
People looking for a substitute to the formulaic MTV/VH1 music programming, in the metal, punk, alternative and emo genres in particular, need look further than havoc Television®. This relatively new channel is the world’s first cross-platform, mixing indie music, action sports and all related lifestyle content, delivered through various cable and satellite outlets, as well as forays into the Internet and mobile phone content.

havoc Television® launched two years ago building up its audience to a point where it now reaches 18 million US homes through cable networks. In addition havoc is presenting a nightly four-hour stint of programming to be delivered on DIRECTV’s Channel 101 that will find its way to an additional 15 million US homes.

A major attraction with the viewing public is havoc’s Video On Demand (VOD) which is pay per view. Customers can access hundreds of underground / indie music videos along with action sports titles which are supported by the ability to pause, rewind and fast-forward.

With indie music comprising 27% of the multi-billion dollar global music industry, it’s no surprise many of the best indie record labels have embraced this new outlet. Some of the labels that are supplying content Epitaph, Astralwerks, Fat Wreck Chords, Palm Pictures, Sub Pop, Vice and Kung Fu, plus top action sports DVD distributors, producers and brands like Lost, Giant, and Volcom Entertainment. Some of the acts that can viewed on havoc are Bad Religion, NOFX, Pennywise, Sublime, and Wolfmother. Pennywise vocalist Jim Lindberg is the vice-president of havoc Television®.

The website promises to soon cultivate a community who can upload videos, post blogs and create playlists. Visitors will soon be able to download content from the site as well as a “DVD on demand” store.

Coming soon will be the ability for cell phone users to log onto the website and download ringtones, real tones, music videos, MP3s and screen savers, all related to content they see on the TV.
