Toot & Puddle - Wish You Were Here
Holly Hobbie writes and illustrates Toot & Puddle: Wish You Were Here. Toot & Puddle are two adorable, pink pigs. They are the best of friends. The two pigs live together in Woodcock Pocket.
In Toot & Puddle: Wish You Are Here, Toot, the world traveler, goes to Borneo. He is on a quest for exotic plants. As he has in the past, he sends Puddle funny postcards of his adventures.
Unlike Toot, Puddle loves to stay at home. Cousin Opal comes to stay with him while Toot is in Borneo. They work in Puddle’s garden in Woodcock Pocket. They enjoy the postcards when they are not working in the garden.
Toot returns to Woodcock Pocket. He has a rare disease. The world traveler is stung by a bee and contracts the Violet Virus. A purple pig!
Resourceful Cousin Opal uses the World Wide Web (WWW) to search for a cure on the computer. There she finds the cure requires a rare fungi. And fortunately, she finds the needed fungi in the woods. She and Puddle brew a tea. Toot drinks the tea and soon is pink again.
Holly Hobbie writes another excellent book in the Toot & Puddle series about friendship. These two diverse personalities, a homebody and a world traveler, are friends in sickness and health. They stick together no matter the circumstances.
