Walt Disney World isn’t just for kids. Plenty of adults spend their honeymoon at “the happiest place on earth.” With four different theme parks, two giant water parks, a downtown area and some upscale resort hotels, you’ll find plenty to keep you busy.

Where to stay
Disney divides its on-site hotels into three categories: value, moderate and deluxe. If you’re looking for the ultimate honeymoon hotel, stay at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the “crown jewel” of the Disney properties. Its location couldn’t be more scenic, set right on a lake with white-sand beaches. During your stay, rent a pontoon boat to explore the lake, play tennis or go to the spa.

Where to eat
The entire Walt Disney World resort boasts dozens of restaurants in all budget categories. One that’s gotten rave reviews from friends who recently returned from Orlando is the California Grill at the Contemporary resort. The seafood, they said, was divine and the atmosphere upbeat and festive with the open-air kitchen.

Another fun place is Boma, at Animal Kingdom. This buffet restaurant allows you to sample all sorts of African foods, including salads, breads, roasted meats and seafood.

For upscale elegance, check out Victoria & Albert’s at the Grand Floridian Resort. Here, it’s a prix fixe menu with wine pairings. This romantic, “special occasion” restaurant is perfect for honeymooners!

What to do
Book your tickets now to La Nouba, a Cirque du Soleil extravaganza featuring amazing acrobatics, high-flying trapeze acts, stunning sets and creative choreography. It’s a show that mixes athletic prowess with plenty of theatrics. This is truly a one-of-a-kind show in Downtown Disney, so build in some time before the performance to stroll the “downtown” shops. Also in Downtown Disney you’ll find Pleasure Island, where adults go to for late-night entertainment, including themed nightclubs and comedy clubs.

The entire Walt Disney World resort is vast, so consider exploring the property by bicycle. Rent bikes at one of these locations. And if golf’s your game, Disney has six courses to choose from.

Disney’s four theme parks—Magic Kingdom, MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom and Epcot—are all pretty cool. If you have the inclination, visit them all for the various rides and attractions. I’m partial to Epcot, namely because I like visiting the different “countries”—and sampling all the ethnic food and drink!

Don’t forget that Disney has two major water parks: Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, with waterslides, wave pools, surf lessons—even snorkeling.
