Thoughts on Father’s Day Giants, Taxes, Sports…
My Dad’s a big strong Giant. My Mommy says he carries lots of weight on his shoulders. So he must be a big strong Giant.

Father’s Day is a favorite summer holiday for families to gather together to pay respect to the Giants of their families. It is clear that the implication in the statement above that a Father is a Giant does not refer literally to their physical size but more the gigantic position of importance that is held in a family by the Dad. Now notice I did not say a position of strength but a place of importance. My own Father was a interesting character. His strength was his sense of humor and his artistry. He was a sensitive man who held a prominent position of strength in my life by giving freely of his gifts and his love of family. He was a Giant. My Father-In-Law was a man of strong character whose bellowing was overshadowed by his kindness and his love of his family. He was a Giant. My husband followed his lead and does him proud as he is also a Giant and a wonderful Father to our daughter who gives his love freely to his family. I have been blessed to have so many Giants in my life. They make us feel safe and secure no matter what scariness overshadows our lives.
With so much political controversy in our country right now, rising gas prices, dismal economy, and a seemingly unending war having Giants to make us feel safe is important. At the gatherings on Father’s Day to honor all of the Giants, undoubtedly, there will be many political discussions, tax discussions, economic discussions, and war related discussions. There may be discussions related to the Bush tax cuts and whether or not they should be kept or allowed to expire, and who they really helped. I’ll be visiting that topic in an article soon but just to tweak your curiosity some people saved about 2% while others saved about 4%. – a strange but true fact. They may discuss the war and if it should still be raging. They may discuss which political party will be the best choice in upcoming elections based on the campaign promises, sports discussions, fishing discussions, barbequing, food, brew and so on and so on.
Have them peacefully, remembering we are all entitled to our opinions even if they are very different from those of other family members including our Fathers, the Giants in our lives!
As always I hope you are enjoying Tax Facts on the Taxing Subject of Taxes!
