Call for Contributors - Faces of Fibro E-Book

Guest Author - Deanna Couras Goodson

My faithful readers and newsletter followers won’t see this as a shock. I’ve decided to put together an e-book here at BellaOnline entitled, Faces of Fibro.

Faces of Fibro will contain stories and photographs of people with Fibromyalgia. You and I write it; I edit for grammar, not content.

Contributors receive:

  • a publishing credit
  • a complimentary copy of the book upon your request
  • acknowledgement that, by sharing your story, you have inspired others like yourself who struggle with this condition.(Note: I do intend to donate 50% of all proceeds to the Million Letter Campaign, a project that is promoting FMS/CFS awareness.)

  • I wish I could give you more. You will retain reprint rights to your work so you could essentially use the piece again in other publications.

    So, what are the guidelines?

  • entries should be between 400 – 2,500 words
  • they are in the first-person
  • and all entries are spell-checked and edited for grammar and punctuation.

  • Oh yes! I would like these submissions to be sent no later than midnight on December 31st, 2004.

Need some ideas? In your submission, you could provide answers to the following questions:

  • How did you first learn about Fibromyalgia?
  • How do you cope with this chronic illness?
  • When and how do you think you contracted this condition?
  • Since becoming Fibromyalgic, what sorts of experiences have you had with the medical community? Friends? Family?
  • and much, much more!

  • I accept email submissions. I prefer that they be embedded in your email. I’d rather not handle attachments unless they are photographs. Those can be sent in .jpg or .gif format.

You may email them to fibcfs@bellaonline.com. Special Notice: If you've attempted to reach me and have not received a reply, please send your information to dgoodson@austin.rr.com.

Upon receipt of your story, you will get a confirmation and a thank you.

Note: This article serves as your ‘contributor’s contract’ as it outlines your obligations and compensation. Please refer to it if you have specific questions. Thank you!
