John Ratzenberger’s Made in America

Guest Author - Sandy Mullins

Travel Channel brings us another great show in “John Ratzenberger’s Made in America“, which airs on Tuesday nights at 9:00 P.M. ET with a second and different offering following at 9:30 P.M. ET.

John takes us along as he visits factories, labs, and stores so we can see how products are made in America. It’s a chance to see the step by step process in making the things we use everyday and meet the people that make them with their own hands. Sometimes, we even get to see John step up and attempt to and sometimes succeed at making the product.

John Ratzenberger stared for years as Cliff Clavin, the all knowing postman with his backside permanently glued to a barstool the long running TV show “Cheers”. He is also the only actor to star in all Pixar/Disney movies. He his voice has appeared in several movies and has stared in various TV series and movies. He has worked in most aspects of the Movie/TV industry.

John grew up in Bridgeport, Connecticut; once a thriving part of the industrial Northeast in an era that people were their own repairmen. If they couldn’t fix something, they knew a neighbor that could. John’s background and respect for the American worker makes him the perfect host for “Made in America”.

Some of our households favorite shows have included the following: Remo Drums in California, Gibson Guitars in Tennessee, Campbell Soup in Ohio, Crayola Factory in Pennsylvania, Louisville Slugger Factory and Museum in Kentucky, Stetson Cowboy Hats in Missouri and the Monopoly board game factory.

Along with these tours you get an inside look at factories, the history of the business and as always in John’s upbeat way a few fun facts and laughs. You get to meet people from all over America working hard and loving their jobs. The craftsmanship these people share is evident in the pride and quality they have in their products and services. Some of these companies have passed down from generation to generation, with the same pride and quality in detail their ancestors had when they started the businesses.

By touring these factories John honors men and women all over the United States of America, who work everyday with their hands, skillfully making Made in America quality products the we use in our homes daily. So tune into “John Ratzenberger’s Made in America” Tuesday nights on The Travel Channel.
