Leigh Taylor-Young's communication skills, dedication to service and pertinent issues, together with her life experiences -- from classical ballet student, to 60's flower child and early stardom, through motherhood and beyond -- are virtually unsurpassed in diversity. When the New York play she was in closed abruptly after five weeks, Leigh got so stressed that she contracted pneumonia, so to recuperate she flew to a spa in Palm Springs, California; the place introduced her to organic food and healthy, rejuvenating sunshine, and she ended up staying three weeks instead of one; She has perfected a healthy regimen that she maintains to this day, a regimen she described to Total Health magazine:
I require four things every day for the well being of my health: meditation, physical movient, nutrition and supplientation plus lots of water. To me the most important relationship is the spirit. There is a mutual relationship to nurture the spirit every day and to take good care of the body because the spirit lives in the body. To have the power of the spirit flow through, you want it to be in a home, a temple, a body that fills the wellness so that the overflow can manifest goodness and good will. As I age I find it is important to understand the changing needs for supporting my body through diet and supplementation. I am presently exploring the natural suppliments which give additional support to my brain, my eyes and my liver. A diet that supports optimal assimilation and elimination is a priority. Organic foods whenever possible, especially with regard to animal protein, is an imperative. It basically comes down to a lot of reading, listening, asking questions and most importantly a positive relationship with a health food store you trust."
Leigh gives this advice about love:
"It's about loving one's self, first and absolutely foremost. The more one comes to know the self, forgive the self, and love the self, the better lover one is of anything and everybody in this life."
and she gives this advice about the spiritual life:
"I would just say love God with all your heart, body, mind, and soul. And whatever comes forward for you to follow, as that love progressively awakens in you, do it. And it will awaken in each person as long as they have the willingness to open to the journey, because it is a journey. Don't try and form it, just have the love and the willingness to listen, and it will guide you with impeccable perfection."

The two [actresses] I always get mistaken for are Lesley Ann Warren and Susan Sarandon. People come up to me and say, 'Aren't you...?' But they're not quite sure which one to say.
