Post CarbWell High Protein Cereal
Many of us don't have time to really "make" a breakfast. Cereal is a fiber-rich, healthy option as long as you avoid the sugary ones! Post has a nice new offering.
CarbWell isn't great for people just starting a low carb diet - the 9g per serving (not including milk) would be about half of your daily allotment. But for anyone maintaining a low carb lifestyle, this is perfect. There are 5g of fiber and 11g of protein in this.
How does it taste? First, the cinnamon crunch. It's a cinnamon crunch flavor - circles of soy grits and rice flour that hold up nicely in milk (low carb of course). It's got a cinnamony flavor with a nice texture, perfect for morning crunchings.
I wouldn't trust the cinnamon IN the cereal to count as your daily dose of cinnamon for health, so sprinkle a quarter teaspoon on top of this to give you the great health benefits.
Next, the golden crunch. It stays crunchy, but didn't have a lot of flavor. If you add things to it it might be fine. We preferred the cinnamon.
With most healthy cereals you can get anywhere from 20g or more of sugar - and UNhealthy cereals give you so much sugar that I imagine you could go into sugar hype just looking at it :) So it's a real treat for ANYONE thinking of their health to have a sugar that is tasty and low in sugar.
We gobbled the CarbWell right up and I highly recommend this for people looking to have cereal for breakfast in a low sugar manner.
