Baby Bootcamp


One of your biggest concerns after having a baby is getting back in shape and losing that baby weight. For a lot of women that's easier said than done. The obstacles and challenges are many including:

  • limited daycare or babysitting options
  • fatigue and sleep deprivation
  • nursing considerations
  • lack of motivation from post-partum depression
  • embarrassment or intimidation to workout in front of others (this was a huge issue for me!)

The perfect solution to your post-partum fitness dilema is babybootcamp, a class designed for moms and their babies. Babybootcamp is a post pregnancy fitness program that includes 75 minute of outdoor fitness with your baby. Sometimes classes are held indoors depending on weather but indoors or outdoors classes combine full body strength training with cardio intervals, pilates, yoga, and ab work. The class places a strong emphasis on core conditioning and movement that is functional for moms. Some of the exercises include bench pushups, lunges pushing your baby in a stroller, resistance band work, power walking with baby in stroller, and ab work with baby.

In addition to getting a great workout, you and your baby gets some fresh air and sunlight which can help induce better sleep and alleviate depression. You also get to socialize with other moms who are going through the same thing. If your baby is fussy or you need to nurse you can stop and continue when you're ready. Plus group training is a lot less expensive than getting a health club membership with daycare, and a personal trainer.
