Femmoto 2007 will be held on October 5th - 7th, 2007 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. For the first time in Femmoto's history, Harley-Davidson will be involved in the event. This year, female riders will be able to ride demo street and on-track rides. On-track women only demo rides are on October 6th and 7th, 2007. Street and Dirt demo rides will be all three days. Buell, Harley-Davidson, Kawasaki, Ducati, Hein Gericke, and Parts Unlimited are sponsors. Buell, Harley-Davidson and Kawasaki are providing demo rides. In addition, the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) sponsored by Kawasaki will be providing Dirt Bike School training.
As background, started in 2001, Femmoto is an organization that provides rider instruction courses, rider information, networking, and specialty services/products (www.femmoto.com). Starting in 2007, Femmoto is donating a portion of membership fees to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Femmoto has been featured in Cycle News, Motorcyclist, Bike Works, Road Racing World, Accelerate, CycleWorld, and Rider magazines, just to name a few.
Previous Femmoto events only provided on-track riding demos. This year, the organizers, Sportbike TrackTime, decided to include street bikes. Another new feature is a change of format with a track day on Friday, October 5th, for men and women riding their own motorcycles. On the 5th, riders will only be allowed to ride their own bikes, there will be no demos on Friday on-track. Saturday night winds up with a banquet bash at the track.
As an added bonus, Las-Vegas Harley-Davidson will be hosting a "garage-party" focused on non-riding women that are interested in learning more about the sport of motorcycling on Thursday, October 4th, 2007. Details can be obtained by contacting the dealer at 1-888-218-0744. Harley will also be featuring their Riders Edge New Rider Course exclusively for female students.
