Recipes Needed To Support Wildlife and Domesticated Animal Foundations

Guest Author - Deborah Adams

Beverly McChesney, an activist for helping animals is now working on a cookbook to raise funds for various animal organizations. She has also completed work such as this in the past to support wildlife refuge's.

The first book, Chicken Poodle Soup, was written to benefit Wolf Run Wildlife Refuge & Educational Facility, Inc. in Nicholasville, KY - a non-profit refuge to abandoned and injured wild and exotic animals. The last cookbook was chosen a 'Kentucky Authors Best Choice' and was allowed to exhibit and sell at the state authors show and sells and benefitted the organization by over $15,000 dollars. Many people volunteer recipes and time to help Beverly McChesney get enough recipes to make this a successful project. She spent many hours writing text and with the help of organization volunteers put together over 600 recipes on the last cookbook. 100% of the proceeds from this cookbook went to the organization.

She's doing it again! In what she calls "A labor of love", Beverly McChesney is again working on a cookbook that will provide funds for at least 4 animal organizations. The funds again will go to the previous organization, Wolf Run, and also shared with several other hard working animal organizations in Kentucky such as Woodstock Animal Foundation and several organizations state wide that are working to form humane organizations to deal with finding homes for dogs and cats across Kentucky. This cookbook will have more than 500 recipes and she is asking people to send some of their personal favorite recipes (as many as they wish) for inclusion in the book, along with their name and state for acknowledgement next to their recipes. The goal date for completing this book is February 2005.

When asked about herself Mrs. McChesney stated: I am the Office Director of Stony Oak Farm and Training Center in Paris, KY., and am a former Asst. to the Governor of Kentucky (1987-1991), a former Board Member of Wolf Run, and of eCampus.com, and I have 25 years of business experience in event planning, marketing, public relations, etc. I am married to Jim, with one daughter, Jenny, who is a Food Innovation Scientist with YUM, Inc., and her husband, Patrick, is a former 4 Star Chef. She is presently considering forming her own non-profit organization to arrange these kinds of works for other organizations and states "...Perhaps it can help organizations in lots of other states too! It never hurts to let your dream be a big one!!"

There are several ways to contact her.
