Narnia - Gifts to Susan from Father Christmas
Three of the Pevensie children meet Father Christmas while on the run from Queen Jadis, the White Witch in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. He is riding in a sleigh. Father Christmas is in a merry mood. The reason for his good humor is the fact the presence of the Pevensie children is breaking the witch's spell.
Queen Jadis has had a spell on Narnia for the past one hundred years. The land is frozen solid. Winter snow covers the land. The residents have not seen spring buds on a tree, summer green grass or autumn leaves for years. Although the only season in the land is winter, Father Christmas has not made an appearance. Everyone, except the evil queen and her henchmen, rejoice that the Pevensies and Father Christmas are in the kingdom.
Unknown to the inhabitants, Peter, Edmund, Susan and Lucy Pevensie arrive by mistake. They do not know what their presence means to Narnia. Mr. & Mrs. Beaver try to explain the prophecy to them.
The reason the three Pevensie children are on the run is due to Edmund's treachery. He is addicted to Queen Jadis' Turkish Delight. Edmund will do anything to get the candy. Anything! He sneaks from the Beaver's house to tell the White Witch his siblings' whereabouts. This action can bring them to their death.
Susan receives a bow and arrow, and a horn from Father Christmas. The bow and arrow are the perfect gifts. Susan studies archery in school. She loves the sport and is quite good. Father Christmas instructs her to only sound the horn when in great need.
