FROM THE EDITOROn August 9th, Mercury goes retrograde until September 2nd. This means that we will spend this month tending to things that we have left unfinished, things that we have put off, and things that may not be that much fun to do. However, when Mercury is retrograde in Virgo, this is the best possible time to "tie up all your loose ends." This is NOT the time to begin new projects, make new deals, start new relationships or buy new possessions. Rather, it is time to get that project that has been collecting dust on your desk done - once and for all! It is time to tend to the relationships we have now, and clear out any misconceptions and "stuff" that bogs down our communications and interactions. It is also the time to go through the possessions you have now: clean out the closets, cupboards, drawers, basement, attic, garage, and so on. Give the old stuff away or cart it to the dump if it is beyond repair. Balance your check book, update your calendar and prepare for the forward moving energy that is coming early September. This is also a time when you need to give yourself lots of time and room to maneuver. Avoid having to rush anywhere; be careful in traffic and expect mail and deliveries to be slower than usual. Also, be kind to your computer and other electronics: Merc retro also brings out the demon (or ghost) in our machines. If you can learn to enjoy the feeling of satisfaction that comes from clearing away the clutter and baggage from your life, you will reap the true benefits of Mercury Retrograde. This energy brings to mind the tarot trump card: JUSTICE.
