Woodbine House Publishing was a Site of the Month for families and professionals in July 2005 at the Special Needs Children website at BellaOnline.com. It remains an excellent resource for books about raising and educating children with Down syndrome, autism, and other developmental disabilities, as well as children with learning disabilities or other special needs. Woodbine House books are wonderful resources for educators as well as families and have been given to public libraries as well as collected in parent support group libraries in the United States and around the world. Some titles are available in Spanish.
Recent and soon-to-be-available books include titles like: When Down Syndrome and Autism Intersect; Lucky Dogs, Lost Hats, and Dating Don'ts; Body Talk: Teaching Students with Disabilities about Body Language; Try Reading Again; The Boys' Guide to Growing Up; Feeding Your Child with Autism; and Moving Out: A Family Guide to Residential Planning
A great attribute that many appreciate are the wonderful pictures of children with disabilities found in Woodbine House Publishing products. They are known for giving attention to and celebrating diversity and inclusion. Excerpts from books published by Woodbine House can be found at their website.
