In a little over a hundred years, we have seen the world as we perceive it, change drastically. A hundred years is a bat of an eye in the cosmic world. And, in retrospect, it really isn't that long of a time period here in our little corner of the universe either.

A little over a hundred years ago there was no electricity. Flush toilets didn't exist, nor did our modern day refrigerators. It was a world where the common mode of transportation was still the horse and buggy. Las Vegas was a tent city. All the food was grown on farms and bartering was still the main exchange for goods rendered.

We went from a basically primitive existence to a world that is linked by a web of digital magic. We communicate on the move with cellphones, move through our world at high speed in constantly technologically advanced vehicles, and have even sent a man to the moon!

So, the question remains. What suddenly spurred this world of ours into a frenzy of advancement that totally changed who we are as a species? And, why now?

At this point you might be asking yourself how what I am saying is in any way related to the subject of Tarot.

The answer is that Tarot is one small way of expanding consciousness. When we open our consciousness to divination, we are also allowing other waves and forms of input to enter into our hearts and minds. In order for any new invention or thought process to occur, it must first find a place in the collection consciousness of humanity.

Edison, Einstein, and Tesla were all partially responsible for the rapid growth of humanity at the end of the 1940's. They all had dreams and ideas that seemed to be impossible... but yet.. those dreams are a part of our reality today.

Awakening one's consciousness means allowing esoteric thought into our consciousness. Every time you meditate, or use divination of a positive nature, you are awakening yourself and others.

If you are reading this article, or you have joined in a class or two that awakens your spirit, you are on your way to ascension.

Ascension is the recognition that we are all one. We are linked in ways that we just don't have the capacity to understand. And we are all going forward into a time where we are just beginning to understand that we have the power to create our own reality individually and collectively.

So just by being awake enough to pick up a deck of Tarot cards, shuffle it, and lay out a reading for yourself or another, you are helping to shape and create a new world. We have the power, we have the capacity, and we have the desire. All we need to do is to learn to make it happen together.
